Why I Left Speechify
I left Speechify in September because my values and the company's didn't line up. I'm proud of what I built there, and I'm taking a break before the next big thing.
18 September was my last day at Speechify, where I was Head of Developer Relations. The short answer to why I left Speechify is that our values didn’t line up.
I’m proud of the work. I led the developer launch of Simba 3.2, built the partner programme, and looked after the SDKs, the docs and a lot of demos. We launched officially after I joined, and in three months we grew self-service revenue from nothing, almost all of it from small monthly subscriptions, to a level that would have had seed investors at YC Demo Day tripping over themselves to fund us.
People who know me, and know how I work, know my red lines. I’m not going to say more than that, and I wish the people I worked alongside well.
Now, for a break. I have a cushion, and an opportunity to spend time with my family and enjoy a holiday for once. Then later this year, onto the next big thing.
